What I've done at work today

I've...

...eaten a waffle with blueberries on it
...dropped a blueberry onto my pants
...cleaned my pants
...read email, written email, read LJ, written in LJ
...hung up 20 youth jackets
...read about the tour of Rent (it's not coming here this year)
...checked email and found nothing
...looked for little jobs and found nothing
...signed up at weddingchannel.com and realized I can't do anything with it because I need Cory to help with all plans

All that in 2.5 hours. My, what an exciting job I have. I know this sounds bad, but I wish someone would get sick and leave so I could do something.

I do have a job for later in the day, a copy project (woo.), and from now until then I guess I'll just look for places to get married. Anyone have any suggestions?

We got married at the Hostess House in Vancouver. It was great! Basically a one stop place for everything. They take care of all the clean up afterwards too! A little spendy though.

You meantioned wanting a view of downtown Portland, but what about the view of the Gorge? The Vista House might be cool. I haven't been there in a long, long time, and I'm not sure if people actually have weddings there or not, but I'm sure it would be a great view!

Or...what about getting married on a small cruise ship on the Columbia River?

I'm in a wedding next month. It's outside at the Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River.

Re:
I looked at a site for the Hostess House. It looked interesting. I'm still just trying to get a feel for what's out there, though. My friend got married near the Vista House, and I'd rather have views of the city. I'm not sure if people can get married there since the road goes all the way around the building, but we might go check it out. And I think that the amount of guests is going to make a difference too... we need to start making a guest list.

I've been by the Columbia Gorge Hotel, but I haven't really looked at it. I should look at McMen's sites, too.

Why'd you choose what you chose? How did you find it? Did you have any websites you looked at to find it?

When I was planning the wedding I was new to the area. I basically started by looking at the phone book. The add sounded good. We checked it out and got the tour and was really impressed! It's extremely convienient! They take care of the food, the cake, the tuxes (if you want), I even bought my wedding dress from there! (found it elsewhere and got it cheaper at Hostess House), the dj, the photographer, the flowers, etc! I was really happy with everything! We got married at 7pm and the reception went to Midnight. I didn't want my family to clean up everything (like many do when they rent halls). They do everything! The reception area was very nice and had some elegant couches for some of the older folks to rest on.

here's the official site for the hostess house if you didn't see it: http://www.thehostesshouse.com/weddingchapel/

Re:
Wow, that seems like it'd be really convenient. I'll talk to Cory and we'll look into it!

That would be exciting!

I think how quickly we've replied to each other says something about how busy we are at work.

Re:
Yeah, it's almost annoying. Thank goodness I have a wedding to plan! At this rate, I'll be done by next week!

If you're so bored, you should help me find a good place to have the ceremony! :)

Re:
About two weeks after we started dating, Cory would randomly say "let's go to Vegas and get married!" At first I didn't think anything of it, but you know how people who get married always say "I knew from the beginning that we'd get married"? Maybe that was my sign. :)

I missed Rent in Minneapolis. Tickets sold out, of course. I heard about it way too late.
Grr!
I've been wanting to see it *forever*.

Re:
I saw it in Minneapolis. :) The only bad thing about it was it was a matinee (cheaper) so there were lots of highschoolers cheering on the gay people (which I thought was ironic since they probably all go back to school and rip on the gay people there, haha). I LOVED it. It needs to come here so I can see it again and take Cory to show him too. (I play the CD a lot and it annoys him since he doesn't know the story!)
