Apparently, last time I got cereal I got Kashi GoLean Crunch. Apparently, Kashi GoLean Crunch has more sugar and fat in it than normal Kashi GoLean. So this time I got Kashi GoLean. On the box, it says "Crunchy Fiber Twigs." That doesn't sound very delicious, does it? Nutricious, hell yes, but not delicious.
Thing is, it kinda tastes good.

"Fiber Twigs"?! Yowza, you're daring! I see "bran flakes" and get skittish. Give me Cap'n Crunch any day!

I think fiber twigs taste good, but not when they get soggy. And I LOVE Cap'n Crunch, but I feel guilty when I eat it so I try not to. :)

I can't say that I've tried it, so I shouldn't put the twigs in the Lima Bean Category yet! :)

I'm lucky if I remember to eat breakfast at all, which is really bad.

Breakfast is really good for you though! It jump-starts your metabolism so you burn more calories during the day!

Yeah, I noticed! Boy was I hungry after eating (what was left) of my fruit cocktail this morning. They say the worst thing you can do if you're trying to lose weight is skip breakfast. No wonder I ain't seeing results!

It's weird, eh? Eat more and you'll lose weight!

Love It!
I tried Kashi based on its appearance in your LJ, Megan. It is terrific! The flavor is reminiscent of Cracklin' Oat Bran, of which I am also a huge fan. Grape Nuts are delicious as well, with bananas and/or strawberries. Mmm. While I really don't eat breakfast during breakfast time (i.e. morning), I do very much enjoy breakfast foods throughout the day.

Re: Love It!
I'm glad you liked the fiber twigs! I also enjoy Grape Nuts, and I will probably get some next time I'm out at the store - I think they're cheaper.

Breakfast foods work really well for some other meals, such as lunch or dinner. For instance, I had a breakfast burrito for dinner last night and it was delicious.

Twigtastic
Speaking of misusing breakfast foods, I just consumed a particularly delicious bowl of Grape Nuts (yay for not working on a random Wednesday) and started reading the box, because I enjoy doing that. There are many suggestions for alternate use including soup, salads and breading chicken. Interesting, to say the least. Then again I put Tabasco on pretty much everything so I'm hardly one to speak about overuse of a particular product.

Anyhoo when I went out and purchased the Twigs, I also bought a box of Good Friends because I enjoy good friends with my cereal and the lady on the right kind of looks like Meryl Streep so I assumed that this would be the cereal for me as well. Fantastic!

Kashi, not to be outdone by their Post brand pseudocompetitors (I use the prefix pseudo- because Kashi would never compete with anyone but Post... Well, Post is a different story) also has myriad recommendations for their various products including but not limited to recipes for every meal and some that have yet to be invented: breakfast, brunch, snack, lunch, linner (which I am assuming is a combination of lunch and dinner, something to tide you over while the Ramen is simmering), dinner and dreakfast (again, which I assume is a late-night meal after dinner but before breakfast, with a nap in between, for the insomniac and/or lonely teenage mother whose baby daddy left her for LaTaShaWanda's stankin' ass).

"Baby and Me?" I'm wondering how they market that? The primary consumer cannot drive, walk, pay for, nor even speak as to their request for cereal, let alone keep it all in their mouths. But I digress. Often.

Re: Twigtastic
Oh, I like linner, but I've never heard of dreakfast. That's a good one. I suppose I've slept through dreakfast all that time.

I've not tried Good Friends. Is it as good as the model on the front looks? And who the hell puts Tabasco on their cereal?!

Re: Tabasco
NOT ME! I put Tabasco on most things, but not cereal or other things that are supposed to be sweet.

Good Friends is nice, but I have noticed that the models on the front are not eating nor even looking at a bowl of the cereal. So I'm not quite sure what to believe based on the packaging, but it's tasty either way.

You've never heard of dreakfast? Goodness, where have YOU been? It's the fourth most important meal of the day, after linner but before lunch.

Re: Tabasco
I'VE been asleep! Who in their right mind eats dreakfast, anyway? Nobody who gets an even 8 hours of sleep, that's for sure.

I thought companies would try to promote their products by using appealing and suggestive words.. "twigs"..?
