Is anyone planning on participating in NaNoWriMo this year? I'm thinking about it, but I'm not sure if I have enough creative juices flowing. (Why'd they have to choose November, of all months, anyway?!)

plinko mentioned it in her last entry... but it doesn't look like she's planning on submitting anything.

Personally, I'd never heard of it before :)

I'd heard of it last year or the year before. I think it'd be fun. I just have to think of something to write. :D

NaNoWriMo
I'd never heard of that before but it seems like a delightful idea! I think I'm going to do it; especially since the fact that the thing can be a total crap work-in-progress.

Re: NaNoWriMo
It can be a total crap finished-product as well, really. I think it just serves as a "yay I really CAN write 50,000 words!" project.

I am going to participate. I have a novel waiting in the back of my mind and I might as well get it out of my mind!!!

Yay! I'd like to read it when you do it! I'm thinking I might do it, but I think I need to raise it above the pseudo-soap-opera genre it's stuck in now. I've done bits and pieces of the story here and there, but I don't have something that could qualify as a good ending. I guess I HAVE got a month...

well, you aren't supposed to write something you've already written part of!

I have a one page outline/sketch right now, but I'm going to try to make some notes and then get to work on 11/1 and see what happens. At least if I get close I'll have material to work with and that's a lot better than nothing!!

I know I'm not supposed to, but I'm not going to use the bits and pieces I've already used.

I have a story that I should be working on right now, but unfortunately I'm annoyed with it and can't do anything to it right now. And it's been like this for a looong time. :) But when it's finally done, it should be neat!

I tried to last year, but failed. I might.

I think they chose November since EVERYONE IS ALREADY BUSY GETTING READY FOR THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS, DAMNIT.

That's what I was thinking. I make all my Christmas presents (well, almost all of 'em) and I'm not sure anyone would enjoy a copy of my wondrous almost-novel for Christmas. Unless I could get Cory to design a cover for me...

Hmm
You think he'd design one for me too? That is, if I, by some miracle, finish my novel? That was a lot of punctuation for one sentence. :D

Re: Hmm
Perhaps, if you caught him when he wasn't so busy. :)
