We got a letter from Nicoal yesterday! It had a diagram in it. A diagram of her neighborhood. It sounds like she's having fun, but it also sounds like she's not. :)

Last night Haley and I ran errands. We were gone for a pretty long time, which made Cory a bit mad since he wanted to stay home for the evening. I didn't really intend to be gone so long, as I was just going to deposit my bonus check ($786.16!!) and take back the shoes that didn't fit me very well. Oh, and get yarn. Yay for more Christmas stockings! Well, not yay for making them. Yay for getting paid to make them! I think I might even charge TEN BUCKS EACH. That would mean I'd get sixty dollars out of this project. Woot!

Today is Friday, I just realized. Tomorrow I go to a coffee shop downtown with rini to crochet in public.

And finally, a plea: make it so that shawls and ponchos and capelets come back into style, please, so that I can sell them. The runway models are starting to wear them again! Why can't y'all??

I don't have any right now, but I'll try to take a picture of them when I get some done.

I, for one, LOVE a good poncho. I have one in my closet right now, as a matter of fact. I have a habit of getting pregnant, so I need to have some sort of warm garment that I can wear no matter what size the front of me it. Plus it's really handy to have free range of movement for my arms when I'm trying to haul the baby and groceries and such in and out of the car.

"I have a habit of getting pregnant..."

Hahahahaha, that's cute. :D

You ought to pass the word around to people! We could start a poncho revolution!!!

I'm tellin' ya, ponchos are highly underrated. I bought mine at target a few years ago, so they're still around somewhat.

Thanks! Though, I guess someone here emailed Mrs. Boyle yesterday and told her that they didn't think it was enough. Ungrateful much?

I found a hooded scarf pattern on Lion Brand Yarns website. I've got that started (for myself) and a drawstring bag, and a blanket all at once. There's yarn all over the house!

I made that hooded scarf for someone at work. :D I have so much yarn that it's not even funny. I love it!

shawls and ponchos are all the rage here in NYC and quite pricey too. chris bought me a poncho for christmas from a craft fair. $160 and a pretty simple design. (too pricey in my opinion, although i do love it) i think you should just make them and get a booth at saturday market. i bet they'll sell like hotcakes! and i'd order a capelet!

Re:
Wow, $160? I'm selling my stuff in the wrong place, man! :D

I've never made a capelet, so I'll have to see what I can come up with sometime!

Re:
hey, look at ebay for pricing too. some of them (especially "jessica simpson style" ones) seem to have a lot of bids and good prices.

good luck!

and i'll take a pic of mine some day so you can see the style. basically it's just red triangular with burgundy trim. looks pretty simple to me but it is a rather large and thick one.
