Sorry, I was on the phone so I couldn't finish that post properly. :D

I just got hired at New Morning Bakery in downtown Corvallis. It's two blocks away from the river and close enough that I can walk there.

Now I must go buy pants. Vroom.

awesome, you'll have to tell me all about it so I can one day open my own bakery :-)

Well, it seems to me that it's more of a deli than a bakery, but I'll tell you all about it when I'm actually behind the counter anyway. :)

I hoped I wouldn't be! They did tell me that they were going to call this week sometime if I got hired, but when they didn't call yesterday I got discouraged. :)

The real trouble is, how will you keep from getting fat? I wouldn't make it in a bakery, myself, unless I were OK with being 300 pounds.

Heh, that IS a good question! Actually, I've worked in a deli before, and after awhile everything just looked nasty to me, so I didn't eat much. Hopefully we have to pay for everything we eat, and that way I won't eat anything just because it's free.

That's true. I worked in Japanese restaurant one summer and I actually lost a little weight. All that was free was the miso soup and rice. So, that's what I ate, but only when I could eat. Mostly, I was running my little tail off. :)

Oh, that sounds like it would be fun. Did you enjoy working in a Japanese place?

Yes and no. I loved the food and the actual place and my fellow waitresses. But the owner was difficult. Kind of crazy and mostly, unpredictable. You never knew if something you did was going to cause WWIII or if it would be nothing and she'd smile and say, "Oh, don't worry about that! It's fine." She could be very nice and also very mean, and you just never knew which one you were going to get on any given day.

I hate it when people are like that. Luckily I haven't had to deal with many of them.
