Last night I heard a big bang. I was still half asleep when I got up and went out to the kitchen to see if something had fallen on the floor. I stood there like a zombie for a minute and then climbed back into bed, and Trout came and lied right up against my neck, on my chest. It was cute.

Then this morning I realized the bang was probably a pear falling out of the tree and onto the roof of the bike shelter right outside our window.

Yesterday I filled out an online application for Express Personnel Services. I should have gone in to do it, but it was so much easier to sit here and do it than it would have been to drive all the way to Albany. I figured I'd have to go in anyway, since I don't know how many online applications are actually looked at seriously. But amazingly, I got an email today from a staffer, who wanted me to email her my resume and asked if I'd be available to work Monday through Friday 10-3 in a long-term office job. She didn't give me any details, but I said I'd definitely be able to work those hours. So hopefully I'll hear back from her soon, and if all goes well, maybe I'll have a new job by next week or the week after!
