Whoa. It's February.

So what are you doing for Valentine's Day? Got any plans yet?

Yeah that hit me yesterday.
I don't know what I'm going to do for it as I'm trying to be frugal with cash.
I always get Benji a bunch of flowers but it doesn't seem enough.
Maybe a nice dinner... although a frazzled girlfriend trying to cook a complicated dish is pretty unromantic.
Maybe I can knit him one of Josi's beanies in bright oranges and reds (his favourite colours).

I'm sorry you're frazzled!
I'm thinking of a nice dinner as well, but I've been making a lot of semi-nice dinners so we shall see if I can come up with something. Cory's the frazzled one in our house.

You're gonna be so jealous of my plans for Valentine's Day! I think I'll have to keep them secret!

I bought strawberry flavored pink marshmallows yesterday at Target. I'm thinking rice krispie treats cut into heart shapes. Gak.

Every time I think of V-day, I think about sitting in the band room in fifth grade (or so) and watching a Disney video with Mickey giving Minnie candy hearts and having her read them out loud. ("I, love, you. Kiss, me.") And then there was a montage of Mickey/Minnie love with "I Just Called to Say I Love You" playing.

I will be forc`ing my co-workers to make valentines day mailboxes and participate in valentines day card-giving as part of my campaign to have more fun at work. :)

Okay, they're really more my employees than my co-workers. And they'll only have to do it if they want. But darnit! It'll be fun!

Ashleigh has something secret planned that involves taking me away for three days. I'm pretty excited.

I hope it doesn't involve my impending death.

If it does, can I publish your haiku under my name?

Every year I send a few of these out: http://www.meish.org/vd/

I'm getting an ultrasound and a regular prenatal checkup. If I'm not too irritable after that (they make you drink crazy amounts of water before the ultrasound and they don't let your partner in the room with you while it's going on) perhaps I can get our babysitter over for a couple hours so we can go out to, uh, I dunno, go bowling or something. If she's allowed out late on a school night.

ROMANTIC! ;)

If it ain't that it's boxed mac & cheese and old Reno911! episodes, yo. Mama's not cooking no fancy dinner after a couple hours of goop all over the belly.

Ha, those are funny. :D

Your checkup sounds ultra romantic! And so does bowling! I'm learning that the older you get and the longer you've been with your spouse, the more realistic your V-day plans become.

One of my friends just started dating this really awesome guy, but she and he won't be able to be together on Valentine's Day for logistical reasons (she's a med student and he's an investment banker type in Washington DC so their schedules tend to conflict) so Lucinda and I are going to ham it up on Valentine's Day by going to Applebee's and shopping at Wal-Mart. Maybe I will bake her something.

You sound like a good valentine! (Now we need to relay that to some cute guys.)
