Eh, sonny?

I must talk quietly. Several times today I've said something and nobody in the room has responded to me. It's rather frustrating.

That would be frustrating!

I talk loud and with my hands, kinda like an Italian, only I'm not Italian...so I'm hard to miss.

Perhaps you could start using hand gestures ;)

Yeah, I need to start waving my arms and yell "I'm about to say something!!!" Either that or I need a guy with a trumpet to fanfare my foray into the conversation. :D

And for some reason before my morning coffee (that's my excuse anyway's) cheerleaders shouting "ready OK!" seems viable as well ;)

Ooh, that might work too. Or maybe some duct tape so people don't talk over me. :D

One can always tell when I post a comment from work in the morning - I forget to log in every time!

Over all I think the duct tape is the best idea of all, for I find that most people don't have many interesting things to say anyways ;)

True! Usually what I have to say is much more interesting. I will suggest it in our next office meeting. :D

Almost every time I get on the phone at work, the person on the other end says, "I can hardly hear you!" And my boss said the same thing kept happening to her, but neither of us can decide if it's our quiet voices or that our phone is bad.

Most of the old mill guys have hearing problems because of working in such a loud environment for so long, so I could maybe attribute it to that, but I think also people don't tend to pay attention unless someone else is loud. I always make sure to acknowledge people who say something just because of my experiences with being ignored, and I'm sometimes the only one who will say something back to them - I like to think they appreciate it 'cause nobody likes to not be acknowledged.

Re: eh?
Gee, thanks for the support! :P

I think that might be why I like typing better - when people actually do listen to me I get self-conscious, I think! (You know how you're in a room and you start saying something and everybody turns to you and you can feel their eyes?)

Re: eh?
yes, i know that all-eyes-on-you feeling. sometimes it's as if the needle scratched off the record and you can hear a pin drop.
