S&G 1

What a nice weekend I'm having!

Yesterday, we lounged around until 1, at which time we went to Petco to get Trout a scratching post, a brush, and - most importantly - a carrier so we wouldn't have to worry about her jumping out the car window while we're on the freeway. Petco was sensory overload to the poor kitten, and she rode on my shoulder until we were in the pet food/carrier aisle, when she jumped onto a shelf and ran away. My hands were full, so Cory had to run to the other side of the shelf to find her. Eek.

Then we went to BK for lunch, after putting Trout into her new cage. She HATED it. She tried so hard to get out, biting and scratching and mewing the whole time we were driving in the car. We finally put Cory's denim shirt in there with her, and she calmed down a little. The vet wasn't too traumatic for her, which was good. She didn't especially enjoy getting her temperature taken, and tried to push the vet's hand away with her back feet. He had to scruff her a lot, because she started attacking him, which made me kinda embarrassed, I think mainly because I've never had a cat that tried to attack the vet before. She was done with her nap and had all that adrenalin from trying to get out of the carrier, I think. She got her distemper shot, and we have to get a stool sample since they couldn't get anything out of her. (Most of this stuff is for me to remind myself later...) We declined the feline leukemia test because she's an indoor cat and I'm not worried about it. So on Monday, Cory's gonna watch her so he can run in and get a good fecal sample before she covers it up.

Our vet is very feminine.

Then Rachel and Harris came over and we bbq-ed trout (the fish, not the cat) and had mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli and alcohol. There are three or four apricot beers in the fridge if anyone wants 'em. Icky. They stayed for quite awhile and we all played with the animals and took pictures of them being stupid.

Today we restrung our guitars. (Well, Cory's guitars, technically.) Now we're going to run to Fred's and get the pictures from last night developed and see if we can find me a chair so I don't have to sit on this stupid stool in front of the computer.

Yesterday morning when I woke up, I was sure I was going to be late for work. I hate that feeling.

We got our pictures developed. I should scan some in. And the ones that have already been scanned ought to get put onto Cory's website. Maybe I'll learn how to do it tonight and then everybody can see what we were up to last May. :)

At the store, we bought all sorts of food. We bought me a chair (yay!) so I don't have to sit on that stool anymore. What a difference. We thought about looking at rings but there really isn't anything else to look at. I already know what I want. (Now someone needs to spy and figure out when I'm going to get it!) We got a new picture album since the first one's all full. We spent way too much money. Eek. But we have soy ice cream. Even if you don't like soy, try Soy Delicious' chocolate peanut butter zigzag. MMMMMMM.

Then we watched Ever After (something fit for a queen! *thump*) and ate vegetables and salad dressing.

Then we took the dog for a walk.

Then we played badminton in the volleyball pit. (Well, technically it's called "SmashVolley.") The sand smelled like cat poop. I didn't see any, though. Then we went swimming and got all the dust off us. Even though it's not the warmest day, the pool was nice and warm and comfortable. We got out when Cory felt like barfing. It was really weird. He does that sometimes.

Now we're going to play with scanners and computers, probably. Once Cory's computer is all updated and fixed up, he hopefully won't be on it as much. I guess it's not so bad...

I have a hankering to start crocheting again. That means I have to go to freakin' Michaels and get C, D, and E hooks so I can make this skirt I've been meaning to make for a year. Someone needs to teach me how to make quilts (and give me lots of extra money so I can pay for all the materials). I suppose I could make that other skirt, if I can get to a fabric store sometime soon.

Trout's running around like a crazywoman. Dinah used to do that too, when she was alive - she'd be sitting there and then out of the blue she'd run around and pounce on things and generally freak out.

I need to buy a faster Mac, with OS9. (Joel?)

Why do I have one little tiny dry patch on my face? Weird skin.

Every time Sunday night rolls around, I get a yucky feeling. I think most of it is because when Cory'd come to visit from Corvallis, he'd have to leave early Monday morning, and I'd end up starting to miss him on Sunday evening, right before bed. I need to quit worrying about it, though. He's right here on the computer next to me and he'll be here when I wake up and he'll be here when I get home from work - every day for the rest of my life!!!
