Last night I dreamed I was sitting downtown on the corner of a rooftop area that had tables and chairs set up. I was reading my book and trying not to make eye contact with the bums that were on the other side of the street (I was probably three floors up 'cause I could see downtown below me, but the bums were on ground level which somehow was my level too - it's a dream, whatever). Then all of a sudden Scott walks up. (He's the co-owner of the studio with my dad.) He said "I hate to ask you this, but I'm really hungry and I have no money. Could I please borrow some from you? I'll pay you back, I promise!" I thought I had a dollar in my pocket, but I had a $10 and a $20. I gave him the $10, he thanked me, and went away.
And then Cory woke me up by kissing me all over my face. :D
My Cory is sick. :( His body is aching. I feel really bad because I have to work and I can't be home loving him and being his nurse. Cory's never sick. As soon as I'm off work I'm going to Safeway and picking up a cartload of medicine and things. And then I will go home and set him up a nice place on the couch or the papasan with TV remotes and pillows and blankets. And I will give him a bath and make him comfortable and let him sleep and smooth his fevered brow. I wonder if he has a fever...
I'm alive, and still kickin'. I just haven't quite gotten used to the whole 2 journals thing. :)
So. Last Monday and Wednesday C and I went to the track and ran 3/4 mile (3 laps) in a row each day, and were completely exhausted by the end of it. And then on Saturday we ran the Lake Run 5k. I ran over a mile without stopping. We walked a bit of the way, maybe a third? and sprinted for the last quarter to half a mile. When we stopped, my stomach (right underneath my ribs) was in such a tight knot, and I felt like I was going to collapse when we walked down the stairs to get to our friend's apartment to shower. But I felt SO good after that. I've decided I like races. It's a change of pace and it gives you a lot of motivation to keep going. I think we averaged at 11 minute miles, which isn't the greatest, but it's good for a first-timer. We finished at about 34 minutes. I can't remember what we placed, but it was just under the halfway mark if I can remember correctly. I don't care how well we did in the scheme of things, I was very proud of myself for succeeding past my personal goals.
I'm going to buy myself a bikini when I can run the 12k. :)
I just realized I need to measure myself. It's been over a month. I'm not sure anything has changed, but I might as well do it if I remember to on Thursday.
Stupid leafblower! Can't you see I have a sick man up here who needs his sleep? Go away and leave us alone!
I came home and Cory was asleep. He's pretty zonked out, I think, because I sat on the bed and whispered to him and sopped up the sweat that was all over his arm. :) It's really hot in here, and he's got two blankets on him. That's good though - he needs to sweat it out.
I shall now take Remmy out to play parkball, and maybe Cory willl be up once I get back, so I can get a pharmacy order from him.
