For in-town early-risers:

I'm going to be dropping Cory off at the Greyhound station downtown at 5am, and I have a doctor's appointment on Glisan off I205 at 8. It'd be easier for me to just stay on the east side of the West Hills for those three hours, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to get together for breakfast at like 6 or 6:30. I know it's pretty early, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Anyone interested?

Mmm, rain. And thunder and very large bolts of lightning. The lights flickered in here a couple of times, and the first floor's electricity went out for a few seconds.

I love this. I went out on the shipping dock and stood in the rain when it started, when the drops were huge and mixed with sleet or hail, and just smelled. Well, I didn't just smell, I had to stop a few times because the dumpsters are right next to the dock, so when I was downwind it stunk. But other than that, I just smelled.

I used to sit on the porch swing with Haley and watch the lightning and smell the rain. We used to wonder if the lightning would ever hit the huge D-fir tree in the front yard, but it never did. I remember last fall when Cory and I walked around downtown Corvallis with peacoats and umbrellas and wet pant legs. It makes me want October to be here that much more.

Hmm. I just remembered we have to take (what will be a very muddy) Remmy out to play when I get off work. There goes my excitement.

What's this? Sunshine again? Bah.
You can hardly even tell it rained so hard. The ground is almost dry. I hope my car is clean and shiny now - it still had Death Valley dust and bug representatives from 11 states on it when I drove it to work after lunch.

Update: No such luck. It looks the same. The lazy girl inside of me mourns.

Yesterday and today I spent most of my time working on updating the receptionists' phone lists. About half an hour ago, I realized I'd been updating a super old list, which meant that all the updates I'd put in for the last two months were gone, and all the things I just spent two days doing are right. I have no idea how such old files could be on the shared file, and I'm really upset now because I just WASTED TWO DAYS.

Oh well, at least I'll have something to do for the rest of the week.
