S&G 1

The best thing about 3-day weekends is that not only do you have a 3-day weekend, but then the next week is short and you get another weekend sooner!

I can finally use all of my body parts again. Boy that weeding killed me. I think I bruised my palm - it still hurts to put much pressure on it.

But I did more damage to the weeds than they did to me - Collapse )

Yesterday we relaxed most of the day. We walked downtown to Starbucks and then the Book Bin, where I looked at a yoga mag and Cory looked at some other stuff. Then we ran out to Petco for some more food and doggie bags, and when we got back solteronita was already in town so I was in the middle of vacuuming when she got here. We chatted and then walked to Pita Pit, which was closed; so we walked to McMens and had lunch there. I had a porter. It was yummy.

After Nicoal left, we hung out for awhile, and then watched The Italian Job (the original). It wasn't all that great, but it ended in a cliffhanger that Cory said was because they were planning on making another one right away, but because this one did so badly at the box office they weren't able to make the sequel. Heh.

(We also watched Team America and Mad Max, on Sunday.)

All in all, it was a nice weekend. We got a lot of relaxing done, and a nice trip to the beach. Now all I have to do is not go crazy at work, where I will have a very small amount of actual work to do. Whoopee.

And now I shall leave you with a pic of us at Depoe Bay. I posted it in dstroy's journal already so a few of you have seen it.

(Hurry up and GROW, stupid hair!)

I forgot to say that yesterday promptly at 2:30, a couple of fighter jets flew over Corvallis so low that all the car alarms went off and the animals got freaked out and I almost had to cover my ears. It was for Memorial Day, so it didn't scare me like it would have just after 9/11 (and it did once or twice) but it was pretty neat. I just wish I'd thought to go outside and watch for them.

It's annoying that the copy machine isn't working. I have a lot of projects on hold because I can't make copies. The technician called while I was at the post office and was apparently kind of rude on the phone, like he didn't want to come out and fix the machine. It's your job, Mr. Technician. Sorry.

It's funny that I can be out in the middle of the office and still feel like I'm all by myself. The back room has three desks in it and two people chatting. There are two offices on the other side of the building that have people chatting in them. And here I am all alone. :) It's not that bad, but sometimes it kind of makes me sad that I have such a hard time even chatting with people I don't know very well. These people are people I know pretty well, but not well enough for anyone to feel like coming here to talk to me. And yes, I've put forth effort too. I guess I have a stand-offish exterior or something. I've had this problem for ages and ages, and I'm pretty sure it's why I have no friends in Corvallis. Even if other people are willing (which they don't appear to be, really), I find reasons why I don't like them (usually it has something to do with intelligence). I think the last good friend I made is rini, and the rest of my friends are either old friends from school or Cory's old friends. Oh well. It's not like I'd love to hang out with people all the time anyway. I like my quiet little life right now.

Same days, different years...

Four years ago, I ended my old journal ("oranor") and started this one. I was also on my way to the west coast to visit my family. (That means it's almost been four years since Mike and I broke up, and in August it'll be four years since Cory and I met!)

Three years ago, I told Mom that Cory and I were planning on moving in together. She was kind of mad. But it wasn't bad because we both knew (well, all three) that Cory and I were going to get married.

Two years ago, I ran at the Starlight Run before the parade. That was the last time I ran a 5k. It's never fun getting yelled at by parade-goers because I'm not running fast enough.

Last year, I was sick and had horrible allergies. And then I cleaned the carpet, which seemed to help a bit.
