S&G 1

(no subject)

Witch number two has been commissioned by my mill manager for his granddaughter. I have a few adjustments to make, like the yarn I'm using for her hair and how I'm doing her shoes, but other than that she'll be about the same. I may change the shape of her body into kind of a peanut shape, but since she's going to be a 7-year-old's doll I'm not sure if I want it to be shapely or just rectangular with the top two corners cut off like this last one was. I found some fake mohair-ish yarn at JoAnn's that I'll be using for hair this time, and I also got a huge skein of orange yarn to make into a shrug or something. I'm not sure yet. (Are shrugs still in style? I'm so behind.)

After Halloween stuff is over, I need to make myself a new scarf. I only have one picture of it online and you can barely see it.

It's about 10 feet long and I made it three or four years ago out of Homespun. And of course it looks like crap now. So I need to find some yarn that is thick and soft like that, but won't look like crap after I wear it. And is preferably washable so that I can let it drag in the mud or close it in the car door and I won't have to trash it. I'm still trying to decide if I want to go with something bright or not. I like the browns and jewel tones in the current one but I'm liking reds and greens and oranges. I need to make a hat that doesn't clash with it as well. I think hats and scarves that are made of the same yarn look odd though.

I miss the glasses I'm wearing in my picture. I think I'll put new lenses in them next time I go to the optometrist. I'm tired of black plastic frames.
