solteronita came down from Portland today and we went hiking at MacDonald Forest, just west of town. It was a balmy, sunny day and we went without coats. It was strange to be walking around outside with short sleeves in January.
I like the outdoors in the wintertime. True, it doesn't look as lush and green and pretty at this time of year, but I love seeing the decay and the moss and the bare branches. We passed by several little streams tumbling down the hill, and there were a few trees down in one spot, probably from the wind storm last month.
Once we passed the uphill part, we became forest sprites and frolicked through the woods.
