I'm almost done deep-cleaning the kitchen. I'm not DEEP-cleaning, it, just deep-cleaning it. I didn't really feel like taking everything out of the cupboards and wiping them down, even though I know they need it. I put the toaster oven up on top of the cupboards since we've used it maybe twice since the wedding and it was taking up valuable counter space. I wiped down the counters and the outsides of the upper cupboard doors and braved the scary stove, and as soon as I rest and let the Simple Green fumes get out of my lungs, I'm going to scrub the floor and the lower cupboard doors. I might do the bathroom too, since I'm in a scrubbing mood, but we'll see. Cory and I need to go to Target and look for a bigger bookshelf for his office area.

La de da. I don't lead a very exciting life. :D

We went Thanksgiving dinner grocery shopping today. It was fun. Now I have tons of food that I can't touch for another four days. Hmph. I want to cook now!

If I'm not exhausted after scrubbing the floor, I may make gingerbread cookies. But the dough has to cool for three hours before I can roll it out and cut it, so it may not happen. We'll see.

Oh dude! Your mention of gingerbread cookies gave me a thought. I actually have nifty kitchen gadgets this year. I might actually have the tools and room to make a gingerbread house! Dammit I wish you were coming down here so we could decorate some together.

Man, that'd be fun to do a gingerbread house. Just don't eat it when you've had it out for a month. It hurts your tummy. :D

My mom and I filled one with cookies and candy and put a gift certificate to a local resturant in one for one of my best friend's parents' one year. They didn't know you're supposed eat it. Her mom was planning on packing it away and bringing it out the next year. Luckily she told me this only a week or so after we'd given it to them :)

Ha, that would've been funny if she brought it out the next year and dropped it and it broke open to reveal all the goodies inside. She really would have felt like a dork then! :D

I'm trying to clean to day too. But somehow, I keep ending up at the computer. Shame on me. ;)

Same here. I keep telling myself "phew! I need a rest! I guess I'll just come sit at my desk for a little bit..."

I know what Robert (my fiance) would say to that: "All right, way to go. If you don't go easy on yourself, who will? Take a break, and then take another!" He's a big champion of resting. And I like it! ;)

"...and THAT'S why I'm marrying him!" :D

That, and a few other things. ;)

I cleaned my oven today too. I used some "fume-free" oven cleaner and it didn't do nearly as good of a job.

I didn't clean the inside, just the outside. :D

Oh. I did both. And I cleaned the catcher thingies under the elements. I finally put foil on them to make cleaning easier. Although we bought a house today so I probably won't have to clean the oven again before we move.

Our catcher thingies are so icky that I think I'm going to go out and buy some more tomorrow, when I get a rolling pin to finish the gingerbread cookies I started. :)

And you bought a house?! Yay! Congrats!

Yeah. We're living in a trailer right now that we bought this summer, but we've found a really good deal on a house.

Can you tell my Father-in-law is in real estate?

Ooh! Does he want to hook me up too? :D

If you move to Manitoba!

Hmm, I'm not sure if that'll work out for us. Does his great power reach all the way to Oregon? :P
