We slept with the window open last night. I'm kind of surprised we didn't have any problems, since I'd gotten my regular fifteen emails about winter storm warnings nearby. But it was pretty mild last night. We even kicked the top blanket off again. It was nice to have the window open - it freshened up the bedroom a little. I think that's the thing I miss most about the summertime - the windows were always open.

I love leaving the windows open when I sleep. I prefer to have both the heat and my ceiling fan on so the two balance themselves out. It's like putting the warm air in motion, circulating around the room. This way if I get up in the middle of the night I'm not freezing to death. Granted, it's probably a squalid waste of money but before I figured out this complicated system I rarely slept through the night. Unfortunately we live in a crappy neighborhood and I don't feel safe leaving the windows wide open when I am not around (or unconscious, for that matter) and while leaving them open a sliver isn't much, it's better than totally sealed up.

Ooh ooh ooh! You're gonna be so proud of your adopted son, MeganMommy!

I bought a Guster CD yesterday at work (10% discount rocks): "Keep It Together." Right now I'm listening to "Amsterdam" and am having a friend download then burn a copy of their video which played exactly four times on MTV2. Mayhaps I will look into their previous albums as well. Me gusta Guster!

Re: Windows
I also love having the windows open. Not only does it make it smell better, but I love it when it rains in the summer/early fall and everything is fresh and sometimes the wind makes a raindrop hit me in the head when our bed's under the window. :D Hopefully when we move to Corvallis we'll get a 2nd floor apartment at least, because I want to be able to leave the windows wide open all summer.

And yay for you and Guster! Definitely get Lost and Gone Forever if you're looking for an older Guster CD - it's the album where they finally settle into their sound, with the bongos and such. But all of them have at least one good song.
