We just had a spider crisis!

I found two huge juicy black spiders on the ceiling. Cory got one of them into a pint glass and flushed it, but the other was in the corner between the ceiling and the wall and Cory smashed it with a spatula. He's currently wiping a huge spot of nasty spider guts off the wall. (That was kind of my fault - he stood there holding the spatula against the spider on the wall when he smooshed it and I took a hammer and gave it a couple of poundings just to make sure it was dead.) That sucker crunched!!

alternately you could have caught them and released them outside...

True. I know it's not their fault that they're spiders or that I don't like spiders. But I'd rather they didn't come back and bug me again.

It's funny - I figured everybody would say "eww, spiders!" in response to this post, but I'm getting the exact opposite! :D

Maybe if you posted up-close pictures of the spiders everyone would say, "EW!" But just the sad story of their violent death makes all us spider-likers feel sorry for them.

I'm glad there are spider-likers in the world. I wish I was one of them - I don't like the fact that I hate them. And I wish I had a digital camera so I could have taken pictures of them (or a webcam to show the one scarily swimming in the pint glass) so everyone would have said "EW!" instead. :)
