Note to myself, perhaps for the vet:

Remmy had a little sore on her upper right foreleg the other day, and she was licking at it pretty bad, so we took her to Petco yesterday to get an elizabethan collar to keep her from licking, thinking it might be a hot spot. Tonight I put a cool compress on it and noticed that not only had the sensitive, red area increased to an inch and a half or so across, there was a small dark area on the edge that looked like it might be a bug or something. I used the tip of a knife and my tweezers to pull it out - it looked a lot like a bee sting, though it didn't seem to have any barbs (but how else would it have stayed in her skin that long?). It was black and small and had what I think was the venom sac on the end of it. I think I got all of it, and now I'm going to put some baking soda paste on it to see if that helps.
