I took Remmy out to play in the train yard just now, and on the first throw she grabbed the ball and then stopped and held her paw up in the air and layed down. It looks like the pad up on her ankle a ways got cut pretty bad - half of it is hanging off. It bled pretty good too. I'm not sure if I should take her to the vet, but I put a big old band-aid on it and taped it all around her leg and put her big lampshade collar on. I think she's fine, it was just a little too much blood for my taste and I think I would have been more upset than she is. :)

Aww, I hate it when Belle is hurting! I never know what to do when she gets sick/hurt.

Good for you. I don't know if I would have thought of a bandaid.

I think I'm going to invest in a first aid kit for her, just in case things like this happen again. It's good to be prepared!

I'd bandage it, put her collar on her, and keep a close eye on her and the wound... maybe even take her to the vet in a couple of days to make sure she's not running a fever (which could mean it's gotten infected).

If you take her to the vet now they can give you some neosporin-like stuff for dogs and it'll heal faster :)

I'm sorry to hear remmy got hurt! It's so sad to see puppies get hurt. Good job with taking care of her Meg :-)

I hate it when pups get hurt too - luckily they don't show pain as much as other species do, so it wasn't horrible. She was all ready to play after I looked at it, too - I bet she thought I looked at it and decided it wasn't awful since I didn't do anything about it right off; so she wasn't worried about it anymore. :)

What's the difference between Neosporin for people and for animals? I have some Vaseline stuff for dogs that I put on, but I figure if she can't lick it, I'm not worried about putting people-Neosporin on it.
