I'm full of questions today.

What credit card do you have? Did you sign up from a mailed ad, or through a department store, or online? What was your first credit card?

AMEX blue and amazon visa. best rewards programs for us. NEVER do the dept. store cards! They can screw up your credit so fast! friend lost a bid on a house because meyer*frank card reported her to a collection agency 5 years before over a 6 buck payment that was a week late.

I'd like to find something that has a good rewards program, but I'm not sure if I can since I have such limited credit. (Hopefully it won't matter though because I'm married to an excellent credit report.) Do you have any trouble buying things with an AmEx, or are they accepted everywhere?

I have a TD Emerald Visa, with my TD bank. I also have a MASTERCARD but hate it. I never use it, but keep it because it has a higher balance than the Visa, just in case I need it for something (I needed to use it for my tuition, but have since paid that all off).

First cc was a mastercard I signed up for at Chemeketa Community College. I was SHOCKED when they approved me and gave me $500 limit.
My second cc was a Lane Bryant store card. They gave me $250 limit.
My third cc was my Avenue card. They gave me $200 to begin with, I currently have $450, and expect it to be upped sometime soon (like, the next time I ask)
My fourth credit card was my Dillard's card. They gave me $1000 limit and I about choked.

I had a Visa for a little while, too, but I forget when/where/how I got that one.
The Dillards card got cut up before I even used it. Now if I need to use it I have to have the cashier lady call into the 800 number and get my card number from them. We use it very very rarely because the interest on it is so astronomical.
My Mastercard, being my first cc and me being 18 and stupid, got up to $1100-$1200 on it due to interest and late fees. I finally got it paid off 2-3 years ago (I'm 27 now).
Lane Bryant closed my account because I didn't pay them (same time frame as Mastercard)
So did Visa.
oh, I have a Roaman's cc... I think it has $200 on it. Roaman's is an internet based fat-people clothing store :)

To make a long story short, in my life I have had a: Mastercard, Visa, Lane Bryant store card, Avenue store card, Dillards store card and Roaman's store card.

The cards I currently have that work are: Avenue, Roaman's & Dillards.

We won't be trying to replace the Cherokee for another year or so, so I applied for a Mastercard via one of those mailing forms just the other day. In fact, I think I still need to mail it out. I flipped it over to read the interest rates, grace period and all the fine print and it turned out to be a pretty okay deal. I mean, it's not fabulous, but what cc offer is? :)

The only credit card I have is a United Mileage Plus Visa.
The first card I had was a student visa, that I signed up for through an ad in a magazine I think. It was fine, but I wanted to switch to a rewards program and I've always been a United frequent flier.

I do have a Target card and Meier & Frank card, neither of which I ever use- ever- but I signed up for them to make use of the built in discount they offer for signing up when we were making major purchases.

Would you have been able to get your rewards program had that been your first card?

See, I had a card when I was 18 and Mom paid it off because it was just for books and stuff. And now I'm paying off my student loan. But before we got married I tried to get a Chevron credit card and they refused me because I didn't have enough history! I'm pretty sure that now that I'm married it'll be easier to get a card, but I don't know which one to get.

I have a credit card through US Bank (which is my bank). The first card I had was a student Visa, which I would buy my books with each term and promptly repay. I just got the card from US Bank a few months ago, and I've only charged two things, and that was only because I want to have a credit history. I hate credit cards.

I don't really like credit cards either, but I think it'd be beneficial for me to build up credit. I probably won't use it much either.
