OK, where was I?

So. I left off on Tuesday where Cory and Joel and I were about to go to a movie. We saw Four Brothers which was bad.

Wednesday we got up early early and left Concord at 5:30 in the morning to avoid traffic. We got to San Francisco and parked across from Fisherman's Wharf, which was right next to where the dock was to get to Alcatraz. We had two and a half hours to burn, so we found a McDonald's and had breakfast and played a game of Cribbage, and then walked around a little bit and sat a little bit. We also went to the Boudin sourdough bread place and got a big loaf that we ended up snacking on for the rest of the week. Cory was upset with me that morning because I couldn't find the confirmation number that morning, and the will-call window said "have your confirmation number ready." But we ended up getting our tickets without any problems; all they had to do was swipe my credit card to bring up my information.

So we got in line and got on the boat and got a good spot on the top deck and got cold as the boat went out into the bay. And since we were on the top deck we were among the last to get off, which was kind of nice because everybody rushed to the cell house to start their audio tours and they'd kind of cleared out by the time we got up there. We took our time because there were interesting buildings all over the place. I think Alcatraz was one of our favorite spots this week. If you've never been there, I suggest you go look at it next time you're in that area.

We spent a bit longer than we'd expected at Alcatraz, and we ended up getting to the San Francisco Zoo at 3 in the afternoon. The first Wednesday of every month is free admission, which was nice because I don't know if I would have wanted to pay to get in for only two hours. We ended up having to really hurry through it, but we saw a lot of fun stuff, including a couple of giraffes running laps around their enclosure. It was cute.

When the zoo closed, we went back to Joel's and had pizza and watched Meet Joe Black which Cory had only seen a fraction of before. We were tired from walking around so much, so we spent the rest of the night in.

More to come later - I'm going to scan some pictures.
