Home again jiggedy!

Our trip to the beach actually took longer than we thought it would. Part of the reason was that we didn't wake up until 9:30, but we also spent more time at our various stops along the way.

We left about 10:30 and got to Agate Beach just before noon, where we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch. We let Remmy get her ya-ya's out on the beach, in the various little ponds that all the rain has created. It's so much fun watching her run around on the beach when she hasn't been there in awhile - she runs in huge circles, and comes back to us now and then to make sure we're still OK.

After Remmy ran around, we drove up to Lincoln City. We spent quite awhile at the outlet mall, and bought a bit more than we thought we would. But it was a lot of fun, and everything was on sale so we felt better about buying things. I got one of those weird rubber loaf pans that's supposed to be really good. I also got another pair of pajama pants (now I can get rid of the holey ones that I've been wearing for far too long) and a pair of black t-strap heels and a couple of sweaters. Cory got some slippers and some nicer shoes, and a few other things.

Then we stopped at the Starbucks next-door to Lil' Sambo's (formerly Lil' Black Sambo's - I remember when it was named that when I was young, and the title character was all over their building but now it's mostly the tiger) and kept going up to Road's End, where we went hunting for rock balls. Mom and Haley and I used to spend a week at the beach every summer, and we'd go to the cliffs at Road's End and hunt amongst the soft crumbly rocks for perfectly round rock balls. We each have a jarful, but my jar is kind of pitiful and I wanted more. We found two or three handfuls, and then we got distracted and decided to go back to the car.

Then we drove to the McMenamins at the beginning of Road's End and had dinner, and then stopped at Spirit Mountain Casino on a whim, which ended up not being very fruitful - Cory won ten bucks, I lost my $20, and we were tailgated by a couple of gamblers who were very eager to get their SUV's back out on the road.

We took the back roads home, through King's Valley, which I've been on once during the day. It was fun - very dark but pretty where we could see in the light of our headlights.

And now we're home with a big pile of outlet mall winnings and with sand between our toes.

My step dad loves those rubber loaf pans. Once I accidentally threw one away, and he hollered at me!

I guess they work pretty well then! I'll have to think of something good to make in it.
