They both look a touch flimsy (?) but I like the first one the best =]

They might be, as they're from Ikea. I've not ever bought furniture from there, so I'm not sure what to expect.

do you have one near you? Cause their shipping is crazy!

I have one in Seattle, which is like 4 hours away. But driving up to get it would probably be cheaper than shipping. :)

Ooh, I knew there was one opening in Portland but I didn't know when.

Yes, and I cannot wait!

I've got a small SUV, so when it opens we should plan a trip up there. It'd be a great chance to hang out IRL and heck... it's IKEA! :-)
(since that coffee meet never seems to happen... :-) )

BTW, I prefer the first one.... but it really depends on what other furniture you'll be pairing with it.

I actually haven't gotten to the point in my adult life where I've paired any two or more pieces of furniture. Everything I own is still kind of haphazardly thrown together. So whatever I get will be the basis upon which I pair other pieces of furniture. :D

I think it'd be great fun to take a trip to Ikea! And we still need to try the coffee thing, so there.

Trust me it would, they do not really do shipping...in fact I think they like to discourage it. I was interested in a cabinet and the shipping quote was over 300.00, the cabinet was only about 100.00!
I also think you need to see it in person...
The other idea is to make your own padded headboard with some great fabric! I have seen them made many times on differnt hgtv shows and they seem really easy. You can then attach it to the wall so all you need is a standard bed frame!
Just another option!

Yeah, it seems like most of their stuff isn't for online sale. But that's OK - I don't mind going through the actual store!

I like the Ramberg best - they are quite cheap aren't they? I've been looking at furniture around here and most stuff is around the $400 mark.

They're really cheap! That's why they're attractive to me. :)

I like the second one, but I agree they look a bit flimsy.

I'll have to go up to Seattle and test them!

I like the dark wood better, but I like the shape of the first one.

eep....IKEA is wonderful for some types of furniture, but NOT their couches. I have heard now a total of 8 separate sat-on-couch-and-it-broke stories which make me worry about some of those super modern designs they put out (both of those designs look....iffy), so I'd be sure that you get to seriously bounce around on a showroom model before buying.

That said, ANEBODA one looks easier to vaccuum under ;)

I read in bed and like to sit up - both of those look like the backing is a teeny bit low - it's hard to see in that photo but it looks like there's some sort of molding at the top of the aneboda one that you'd want to be sure doesnt stick out into your back - whereas the other one is smooth topped. That said, I'm a lay-on-it-and-pretend-it's-home at the showroom person ;)

I've heard lots of mixed things about Ikea stuff. I've never really played around with their furniture before, so I'd definitely like to go look at them in person before I buy them.
