OK. So I've never read a Harry Potter book. I saw two of the movies, I think, but after the first one they were all kind of the same so I probably won't see another. But I've been reading and hearing all about the FLOOD OF SPOILERS on the internet, that all HP lovers have been trying their best to hide from. So I went in search of them. I Googled "Harry Potter spoiler" and I got the following:

Bloggers complaining about how horrible people are trying to spread around spoilers.
News stories about how there are spoilers EVERYWHERE on the internet.
Other bloggers making up their own spoilers without having read the book.
Still other bloggers making fun of the people who feel like they have to take "Harry Potter Day" off and hide in a cave and read the whole book reallyreallyfast.

So in the end, I think that even if you live on the internet (as I do), you'll probably be safe. Unless you were in Dallas when this guy drove by the bookstore and yelled out the ending. (Mind you, I have no idea if it's true, and I can't even remember who Dumbledore is, but the "Noooooo!" one girl yelled out was funny.)

Noooo! You ruined the book for me!!!
OMG! I can't believe xxx kills yyy!! (I don't want to be stoned for spoilerage ;)
Course, you'd still have to read the book to see why xxx felt the need to do that.
One thing I really don't like about the Harry Potter series is all the killing that goes on.
I've read the first 4, I think. Didn't read the last 2. I might just wait till they appear in the used bookstore. Not like I have time to read them right now anyway.

I think if it teaches kids that books are fun, then it's all well and good... but I was just talking to a middle school teacher last night who said that kids are reading these but aren't moving on to any other books.

I think I won't read any Harry Potter ever. I wonder what percentage of adults out there are like me. :)
