It's such a pretty morning! I started getting back into my walking habit yesterday, and this morning I got about three steps out the door before I turned back to get an umbrella just in case. It was a good thing I did, too, because I needed it less than halfway through. The rain washed all the pollen into the street; little rivulets of yellow powder. It washed off all the dusty leaves and everything is greener now.

My new route is really nice. I go up to the almost-top of Timberhill (and I could go further if I wanted to walk on the path in the Timberhill Open Space but I don't want to do that alone so I'm saving it for another day). The path goes past the tennis club and the athletic club, and then past apartments and then townhouses and then big houses and then new construction as you climb the hill. There's nice wildlife - I saw two wild rabbits yesterday and two more this morning as I walked, and I heard a mourning dove yesterday morning (among tons of other birds, of course). No deer yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. It's just three-and-a-half miles - I'd thought it was longer but the hills make it seem that way, I think. This morning, though, my hips are sore - I'm not sure if I've ever had that problem before. I tried stretching them out a bit after my walk this morning and will probably have to keep that up. I'm waddling around all funny today.
