So today I'm in shipping (working with Glenn, not Greg... phew) and I have a whole hour before anyone else gets here. I'm looking forward to sitting on the computer half the day. I have to have a meeting with Lisa sometime (she's gone next week and wants to have stuff for me to do) and hopefully then I'll bring up my wanting to have my hours changed. Coming in at 7:30 and leaving at 4 has been WONDERFUL. I love actually having time to do things after work. But when I mentioned it to Donnita, she said "oh, don't ask Lisa!" and I asked why and she said "because Nan has wanted to come in early for a long time and hasn't been able to, and if you got to come in earlier than she does she'd have a fit!" You know, I really don't care if she has a fit or not. She needs to grow up. She's 50+ years old! I'm asking anyway. Yesterday after work while I was waiting for Jamie to finish her project so we could hike, I went into the mailroom to check my email really quick. I said "how's it going?" to her, and she didn't answer, but when I got on the computer and started checking email, she huffed a lot and banged things around to show me that she didn't like me to be on "her" computer. Jeez, it sounds like I'm talking about a freaking gorilla or something.
Friday is my eye exam. I'm a little nervous because I've never had one before, and I hope I don't have to wear the stupid things more than just driving. I may have to though, and if I do, Cory will be very happy. Dork.
Speaking of Cory, I made him and Remmy come up to Portland last night. We had some talking to do, Cory and I. I thought it would be beating a dead horse, but it wasn't. It's all better now - sort of. I just hope it becomes completely all better soon.
Why does McMenamins have such horrid service lately? We went to Ram's Head on 23rd and Hoyt, and stood at the door for about five minutes waiting for a waiter who never came. It wasn't even that busy. There were just no waiters in the dining area at all. So we left, and went to Blue Moon on 21st and Glisan, where we could seat ourselves, and it took forever for our food to come! But my chicken sandwich was really good, so I guess I forgive them. No tip though. The waiter seemed to be a glorified busboy who wanted his old job back - he took forever to get our order, but whisked our plates away so quickly...
Cory, what do you want for your birthday? I know what you NEED, but what do you WANT?
